Location: Durham, NC
Pay: $10/hour (Monday-Friday some weekends) 7:30am-5:30pm
Overview: Under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, clean and keep in an orderly condition dormitory, apartments, office and storage areas.
Perform special, as well as, daily cleaning duties to meet company requirements. Comply with customer and company requirements, policies and practices related to designated areas of responsibility.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to lift heavy objects.
Possess the mental and physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
Comply with quality control measures, internal controls, safety practices, hazardous material handling, and company policies.
Provide custodial services in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
Respond to emergency cleaning situations to prevent unsafe, insanitary or unclean conditions.
Start each task with the equipment, material and supplies necessary to perform assigned functions in an uninterrupted manner.
Maintain accountability of customer and company furnished property,material, and supplies.
Receive and store custodial material and supplies.
Move to user location upon request.
Identify facility deficiencies requiring corrective maintenance and report the need for repairs to furniture, fixtures, equipment and buildings to supervisor.
Dust, clean and/or polish furniture, fixtures, equipment, blinds, drapes and other surfaces.
Provide and replenish room and restroom supplies as well as any other supplies needed; provide minor maintenance service.
Clean lavatories, toilets, baths, showers and restrooms and wash interior and exterior windows.
Turn mattresses and make beds; sort, count, fold, mark, carry, and inventory linen as well as distributing clean bed and bath linen and removing soiled linen for laundering.
Clean induction units, vents, exhausts, and lighting fixtures.
Move and arrange furniture, hang blinds and drapes; spot clean walls, doors, and door facings.
Upon completion of all jobs, check work to ensure work was completed satisfactorily to company and customer standards.
Sweep with broom or powered sweeper; dry and wet mop; sanitize floors, toilets, lavatories, etc. scrub with mop, machine or by hand; strip, wax and polish floors.
Empty trash receptacles and remove trash and debris to pick-up areas.
Keep chain of command informed of significant issues or developments related to their area of responsibility.
Immediately report all accidents to the supervisor and provide administrative support to the Supervisor.
Comply with policies and practices listed in the employee handbook.
Comply with all customer and company security requirements.
Ensure confidentially of company policies, practices, procedures, budgets, expenditures, work methods and personal data.
Perform other duties as assigned.
